1. Information we process

When you install or use Prettifai, we may process limited information necessary to operate the app, including:

• Shopify store information, such as store name, myshopify.com domain, store URL, Shopify shop identifier, and basic account details.
• Merchant contact information, such as name, email address, and communication preferences.
• Shopify theme and storefront data, including theme file names, theme file content, assets, templates, sections, settings, storefront URLs, screenshots, preview artifacts, and generated outputs needed to provide the app.
• Storefront content or screenshots needed to generate design suggestions, previews, recommendations, or improvements.
• Storefront passwords, if provided by the merchant for password-protected stores. Storefront passwords are stored encrypted server-side and used only to access the storefront for app functionality, previews, and automation.
• AI processing data, including prompts, storefront context, screenshots, generated recommendations, and generated outputs needed to provide Prettifai’s design optimization features.
• Technical information, such as logs, browser type, device information, IP address, usage events, error reports, and performance data.
• Communication preferences, including whether you have opted in to optional product updates and recommendations.

Prettifai does not request access to Shopify customer data or order data through Shopify APIs. Prettifai does not sell merchant data, store data, customer data, or order data.

2. How we use information

We use information only for the following purposes:

App functionality

To provide, operate, improve, and secure the Prettifai app, including generating previews, recommendations, design improvements, and storefront optimization outputs for Shopify stores.

Theme and storefront operations

To read, analyze, preview, and write Shopify theme or storefront changes that the merchant authorizes through the app.

System and security notifications

We may send mandatory emails related to account security, app functionality, billing, technical issues, important service notices, or legally required notices. These messages are necessary for using the app and cannot be opted out of while you use Prettifai.

App updates and recommendations

We may send optional emails about app updates, product improvements, recommendations, tips, and relevant feature announcements. You can opt out of these emails at any time.

Experience optimization

We use analytics and product experience tools, including Google Analytics, to understand how merchants use our website and app, improve usability, fix issues, and optimize the product experience. We may use similar tools solely for product analytics, debugging, performance monitoring, and experience optimization.

3. Data storage and deletion

Prettifai is designed to minimize data storage.

We do not permanently store store content, generated outputs, screenshots, or temporary processing data unless needed to operate the app, provide support, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, or troubleshoot technical issues.

Where temporary data is used to provide the service, we delete it once it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was processed.

When a merchant uninstalls the app or requests deletion, we delete or anonymize associated data unless we are legally required to retain limited information, such as billing, tax, security, fraud prevention, dispute, or compliance records.

4. Service providers

We may use trusted third-party service providers to operate Prettifai, including:

• Shopify, for app installation, authentication, billing, platform functionality, and Shopify APIs.
• Cloudflare, for security, networking, and performance.
• Google Cloud, for hosting, infrastructure, databases, storage, and related cloud services.
• Resend, for sending system, security, transactional, and optional product emails.
• Google Analytics, for analytics and product experience optimization.
• AI and model providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, for generating design recommendations, analysis, and app outputs.

These providers may process limited information only as needed to provide services to us.

5. Sharing information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate, secure, analyze, and improve Prettifai.

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, security, and integrity of Prettifai, merchants, Shopify, or others.

6. Shopify data and merchant responsibilities

Prettifai operates in connection with Shopify. Shopify may provide us access to merchant or store data based on the permissions approved during app installation.

Prettifai uses Shopify theme-related permissions to provide app functionality. These permissions may include reading and writing Shopify theme data.

Prettifai does not request access to Shopify customer data or Shopify order data.

Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their use of Prettifai complies with applicable privacy laws and their own privacy policies, including obligations related to their customers, website visitors, cookies, tracking technologies, and consent requirements.

7. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website and app may use cookies, pixels, analytics scripts, session tracking, or similar technologies to:

• Keep the app secure and functional.
• Understand usage patterns.
• Improve product experience.
• Detect bugs and performance issues.
• Measure website and app performance.

Where required by law, merchants and visitors may need to provide consent for analytics, cookies, and tracking technologies.

8. Email communications

We send two types of emails.

Mandatory emails

These include system, transactional, account, billing, legal, technical, and security notifications. These are required for using Prettifai.

Optional emails

These include product updates, recommendations, feature announcements, and educational content. You can unsubscribe from optional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us at hello@prettif.ai.

9. Data security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

Storefront passwords, when provided, are encrypted server-side.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International data transfers

Prettifai is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate.

These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Opt out of optional marketing emails.

12. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as needed to provide Prettifai, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements.

Temporary data used for app functionality is deleted once it is no longer needed.

Certain records, such as billing, tax, security, fraud prevention, dispute, and compliance records, may be retained for longer where required or permitted by law.

13. Children’s privacy

Prettifai is intended for business users and Shopify merchants. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a new version on our website or inside the app.

The updated version becomes effective when it is posted, unless otherwise stated. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
